Kitten Thrown From Moving Car on Binghamton Highway

How could someone throw a little kitten out of a moving car window?  This happened a few days ago in Binghamton and we want to catch this person. The innocent animal was instantly killed on impact.

In some countries there can be 1-2 years jail time for such a crime. In the U.S., including New York State, there are some laws on the books but not jail time.  I'm hopeful that someday new laws will result in stiffer penalties.

Yesterday, I received a heartfelt message on the Hawk Facebook page that I would like to share with you:

Hello, my name is Kelley and yesterday morning my friend witnessed a kitten being thrown from this vehicles window on 434 by Ben Franklin. I have spread the word on my facebook page and have had many shares, but would like to get the word out a little more. She spoke with the police who showed up to take her statement and they said they couldn't do much until they found the vehicle and have her come in to ID the person. All she got was it was a red Toyota Corolla and the driver was black. The kitten was killed on impact cause of the speed the driver was going. If there's anything you can do to help spread the word, please for all animal kind I beg you to do so. I hate the fact that animal cruelty gets overlooked so much in this country, I just want to try and help this one. So even if you just post this story to your Facebook page I would greatly appreciate it. She said the plates looked tampered with but didn't know for sure and I have had some people say they have seen this car on the Vestal Parkway and between Front and Prospect St a lot through out the day. I think I speak for many people in the Binghamton area that love animals, hopefully this person will be caught and made to pay for this horrific act.  If this person does this to an innocent little kitten, what is this person capable of doing to a human being?
