The Binghamton Devils are in action at the Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena this weekend but the biggest Devil event could be on Saturday (2/23) afternoon. It's a chance for your child to try hockey for free.

The Binghamton Devils have got together with the USA Hockey and the Southern Tier Hockey Association (STHA) to host Try Hockey Free Day. It's a completely free experience that will give kids a basic understanding of skating and the game of hockey. Talk about your win-win.

You can register your child, age four to nine, in one of two time slots. The first session runs from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. The second session is from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Don't delay because registration is limited to 40 children per session.

When they said free, they weren't kidding. The equipment is provided by STHA. There will also be free food, drinks and free parking avaialble on Susquehanna Street next to the Arena.

The New York State Amateur Hockey Association (NYSAHA) equipment trailer will be on hand to outfit the players with helmets, pads, gloves and skates for all the sessions. Wait there's more, all kids that register will get a voucher for a free ticket to the game that night against the Utica Comets.
