Employees of stores inside Johnson City's Oakdale Mall have grown accustomed to seeing kids in costume excitedly going store to store to trick-or-treat, but things are going to look a bit different this year.

Instead of hosting its traditional Halloween trick-or-treat, the Oakdale Mall announced on Sunday that it would celebrate the holiday through a weeklong series of events.

From now through Saturday, October 31, the community is encouraged to visit the Oakdale Mall's Facebook page and on this post, upload Halloween costume photos. All photo entries will be placed in the running to win a goodie basket supplied by UHS with the winner announced by the mall on Monday, November 2.

The Oakdale Mall has also set up a "Spooktacular Selfie Station" for anyone visiting the mall who would like to take a photo of themself in or out of costume. The Spooktacular Selfie Station will be set up inside Center Court of the Oakdale Mall through Saturday, October 31.

Also on Saturday, October 31, the Oakdale Mall has joined up with Pix in the Park to offer families a professional photograph that can be taken in or out of costume for $5.00 in Center Court between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Those taking advantage of this offer will also receive a free goodie bag while supplies last.

Please note that for the Pix in the Park family photo offer, families will be limited to one photo and there will be a time limit to make sure the experience is safe and to allow others a chance to have their photo taken, too.

The Oakdale Mall also reminds visitors that when inside the mall, masks must be worn at all times, even when a costume is worn.
