If I say the name "James Rebhorn" to you, you would say "WHO?" He's a character actor whose career has spanned 50 years. He passed away on Friday at the age of 65.

His career started in 1951 on the soap "Search for Tomorrow." I remember him from "My Cousin Vinny" and "Seinfeld." He played the D.A. who sent Jerry and his friends to jail in the final episode of the series.

He plays the father of Claire Danes on Homeland.  He's also been on White Collar, Law & Order and The Good Wife, just to name a few. I remember his role as an attorney on "The Practice" and "Boston Legal."

His movie roles include "My Cousin Vinny" and "Basic Instinct." When I look at his picture, I can hear his voice. He had the kind of voice that if something was going wrong, he would make it sound like it was gonna be all right.

He had been dealing with Melanoma for 20 years. He was 65.
