Vestal “Spark by Hilton” Now Open

A new hotel on the Vestal Parkway near the Binghamton University campus has started operating.

The 79-room Spark by Hilton hotel opened late last month. The hotel brand, which was launched three years ago, is described as a "premium economy" concept.

The former Comfort Suites hotel at 3401 Vestal Parkway East was fully remodeled over the last several months.

Manager Stacy Chance said about 15 people have been hired to work at the new hotel. Guests are offered a complimentary continental breakfast. The hotel's fitness center and indoor swimming pool are expected to open in late January.

The hotel is located about one mile west of Binghamton University.

The property was acquired by RAJ Hospitality LLC of Connecticut for $3 million in January 2023. For a short time, it was operated as an independent hotel under the name "University Inn."

The Spark by Hilton is one of several hotels that now are operating along the Vestal Parkway corridor to serve people visiting Binghamton University.
