Greene NY Schools Engages Community In Superintendent Hiring

The Greene Central School District is currently searching for a new school superintendent.

While this may not be anything out of the ordinary, the process the school district is taking is interesting, giving the community a voice in the hiring process.

The field is down to two candidates, and as part of the interview process, the Greene Central School District Board has invited the "two finalists to provide a presentation and answer some interview questions for a live audience of interested community members" according to the Greene Central School District website.

The finalists are Aaron Kaminsky and Lisa-Marie Carte who will have about 20 minutes to provide a presentation introducing themselves and their candidacy, followed by answering questions that include input from the Village of Greene community.

To have your question considered, fill out the Community Survey for Interview Questions link found HERE. The candidates will answer the chosen questions for 20 to 25 minutes after their presentation and introduction session.

The Greene Central School District website notes that village residents will have the opportunity to provide feedback to the school board, which will help make their decision on a candidate for the supervisor position. The survey will close on Monday, February 5, 2024, at 3:00 p.m.

Note that the community forum is a listening session only. No questions from those in the audience will be allowed. The forum is scheduled for Thursday, February 8, 2024. Each candidate will have one hour - 6 to 7 p.m. for Aaron Kaminsky and 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. for Lisa-Marie Carter.
