Is 4am the most productive hour of the day? Well, not so much for this mama who doesn’t get to bed until around 11pm and then is up at 3am to be to work at 4am. 4am in my world is hard. So very hard. Mostly I just feel like a zombie at 4am. Every. Day.

We've all heard that successful people get up early, but I’m going to guess you didn’t imagine it was 4am early. Apparently, the most productive and happiest time of the day for those much more successful than me is 4am.

What is it about 4am that makes it the most productive hour of the day? If you ask the experts, the majority will tell you that they think being active early in the day is good for us because our minds and bodies are programmed to be "alert" earlier in the day, rather than later.

Psychologist and author, Josh Davis, says the reason is actually more simple than that. It's simple- nobody else is around to cause distractions, unlike later in the day.

Davis tells the Wall Street Journal, "No one is expecting you to email or answer the phone at 4 am. No one will be posting on Facebook. You’ve removed the internal temptation and the external temptation.”
