If your feeling more stressed out than usual, or you have higher levels of anxiety due to the Covid-19 outbreak, you're not alone. According to a report in the New York Post today, over three-quarters of Americans said that they are feeling more stress and anxiety because of the Coronavirus.

I know it's easier said than done, but when I start getting stressed out over something I remember something my father used to tell me. He used to say, “don't worry about things you can't control”. So if my mind starts getting the best of me, I remember that saying and just start thinking about something else.

According to the report, the most popular way people are coping with the stress around the Coronavirus pandemic is exercise. 52% of the people in the survey said that exercise is helping them relieve stress.

And exercise doesn't mean you need to work out for an hour a day. You could head to the Rail Trail in Vestal and take a nice  leisurely walk to relieve stress. Otsiningo Park is another great place to go for some fresh air and exercise.

Other ways people say they're coping with the stress during the pandemic is by watching TV. That finished second with 42% of the people saying that that's a great way for them to relieve their anxiety.

Other things that made the list include sleeping, having beer, wine, or a cocktail at the end of the work day, and 27% said having sex is helping them relieve stress.

Hopefully with phase one of the states reopening starting Friday here in the Southern Tier, that will relieve some stress and anxiety knowing that things are finally starting to get better.
