Section 4 High School Football game coverage gets underway this Friday night when the Vestal Golden Bears visit Alumni Stadium to face the Binghamton Patriots.  Kickoff is set for 7:00 PM with air at 6:50 on News Radio 1290 WNBF.

Vestal versus Binghamton is one of the area's great rivalries.  Last season the Patriots pulled out a 25-21 decision when with Vestal threatening near the Binghamton goal line time ran out on the Golden Bears.

In last week's season openers the Patriots had quite a battle on the road with Corcoran out of Section 3.   Corcoran pulled out a 20-19 decision. Vestal fell at Corning 41-0.  It was a costly loss for the Golden Bears.  Standout Todd DeGroat went down with a torn ACL and is lost for the season.

Binghamton has had to deal with the loss of last year's starting quarterback Zane Olmstead who is out with an injury.  Wide Receiver Cequan Johnson has been moved to the quarterback position.  He leads an offense with several outstanding talents.  Mose Hill is one of the fastest running backs in Section 4 and receiver Colbie Young  is a premier wide out who at 6'3" can out-jump many defenders who try and cover him.
