Broome County’s industrial development division, “The Agency”, voted to approve a request by Canopy Growth to move forward with the incentive proposal by setting up a public hearing.

Canopy Growth broke ground at the former Shop-Vac plant on Pine Camp Road in July and was expected to have started operations by now.

The groundbreaking at the former Felchar manufacturing campus was held just weeks after the Canadian company’s CEO was replaced.

The facility was expected to be able to start processing hemp with the fall harvest but missed that goal and is seeking help in funding the renovations at the factory building.
