After suffering a 7-3 loss to Harrisburg, the Binghamton Rumble Ponies looked at June 7, 2019 as a fresh start as they played the opening game of a three-game road series against the Hartford Yard Goats.

Colton Welker gets the hit parade started early for Hartford as he manages to get a two run homer, his seventh of the year, after it bounces of the foul pole of the ball park. The Yard Goats would take a quick 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.

Luis Carpio gets a two run RBI double, followed by an RBI single from Jason Krizan gives the Rumble Ponies the one run lead in the top of the second inning. Bottom of the second, a pair of solo homers from Brandon Gold and Vance Vizcaino allows the lead to change hands yet again as the score stood at 4-3 in favor of Hartford.

Krizan would continue to show off his clutch gene as he hits his 6th home run of the season in the top of the seventh. This would break the four inning stalemate with the score tied at four. Not wanting to be outshined, Mylz Jones singles in the bottom of the seventh to put the Yard Goats up one. Follow that with an RBI double from Welker and Hartford goes up 7-4. Bret Boswell would come in to score before the end of the inning, making it a 8-4 lead. The Rumble Ponies tried to mount a comeback in the top of the ninth, but unfortunately the ball game ends in a 8-4 final in favor of the home team.

Binghamton moves to 31-24 on the sesason while Hartford's record becomes 35-24. The Rumble Ponies will look to tie the series on June 8 starting at 6:05 P.M.
