It's Good News Monday! My Good News has to do with a miscommunication that turned into a fun afternoon with Tara at a high school football game.

As some may know, my daughter, Tara, plays flute for Chenango Valley.  At band practice on Friday, it was announced that if you were interested in playing in the pep band come to the meeting on Saturday at 12:30pm.

Tara thought it was just a meeting. She was wrong but it turned out for the best! When we got to the school, she was asked what instrument she played. She replied it was the flute. She was asked if she wanted to play the drum today.

We looked at each other, "Today?!" We didn't know it was for today. She ended up accepting and as she practiced with the pep band for the CV/NV football game, I ran (okay, I drove) back to the house to get the appropriate Warrior attire for the game.

Things didn't turn out too well for Chenango Valley as they fell to Newark Valley. However, Tara and I had a wonderful time as she banged on the drum. I think she got her drumming skills from her old man.

I also got to explain to her, why the guys kept running into the middle of the pile and not around it....I've had many non-football people ask me the same question.

That's my Good News and even a better memory.
