If you're younger than 38-years-old, you're going to have the chance to see something very special this Christmas- something you've never seen in your life. As Santa makes his trek around the world this year, he'll be guided by the light of a full Christmas moon

Not since 1977 has there been a full, visible moon on Christmas- and there won't be another one again until 2034. NASA confirms that this Christmas, we'll be able to see a full moon with our very own eyes.

The Christmas moon will be 99% illuminated on Christmas Eve, December 24th, and will officially become full at 6:11am, which is just one hour before it will set. The full moon will once again rise at 5:32pm on Christmas evening.

After this full Christmas moon, the next time we'll see another will be 19 years from now, in 2034.

According to the Farmer's Almanac, the December moon is appropriately called the "cold moon" because, "it is the month when the winter cold fastens its grip and the nights become long and dark."
