Florida Gov. Wants People Flying in From NYC to Quarantine

The Associated Press reports Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) is issuing an executive order mandating that anyone flying in from New York City and the surrounding area go into self-quarantine.

DeSantis said more than 100 flights arrive in Florida from New York every day and he believes every one contains at least one person who is infected with the novel coronavirus.  He says he wants to have all the passengers on those arrivals to self-quarantine for two weeks. The Republican says people would be screened when they arrive and told they must self-quarantine.

DeSantis says he has been in contact with federal officials about cutting short those flights from New York but has not received a response.
