Everybody has been going through tough times for the past 12 months especially our schools. Everything has changed for them and it's been tough and that includes my school district, Chenango Valley.

The Chenango Valley Athletic Booster Club (CVAC) has been there to help the sports clubs and sporting related activities at Chenango Valley that's outside the CV School District Budget.

They make sure that everyone in the Chenango Valley Middle/High School that wants to compete in athletics can. Like everyone else during this pandemic, their ability to raise money for insurance, accounting, and general overhead responsibilities have been hampered.

Even though most activities have been canceled because of COVID-19, they still have to be ready to cover those costs, when the restrictions are lifted. You may have noticed that some High School sports are getting ready to start up again, including basketball on Friday, February 12th. (YEAH).

That's AWESOME news for the kids but there will be few or no fans allowed at the event site. That means they won't be able to raise money through concessions and fan memorabilia.

So what can they do? They have decided to get creative and do a Doug's Fish Fry, this Saturday, February 6th from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. You are invited to come to Ginny's Unique Boutique, 70 Chenango Bridge Rd (Route 12A).

It's just down the road from Price Chopper (where my daughter Tara works) and next to the former R-Tee Golf Driving Range. CVAC is a not for profit organization so the money they raise goes directly to help the student-athletes.

If you have the time, I'll hope you'll take the drive. Go here for more info and who knows, I could see you there after my broadcast at Tractor Supply.
