Every October, the HAWK pulls out all the stops to bring you the best concerts and some big flyaways for country music month.  We call it HAWKtober and it's been a big month for as long as I can remember and with the RE-opening of Magic City Music Hall on Upper Front Street in Binghamton, we thought it would be fun to bring you a FREE concert in appreciation for being loyal to the HAWK.

On Saturday night HAWKtober 24th, we bring you a free show featuring the Hats Off Band and the Jason Wicks Band, both big Southern Tier favorites.  The show starts at 8pm and since there are no tickets necessary, just show up for a fun night of free entertainment and check out the new place that has been so missed here in the Southern Tier.

The Hats Off Band is made up of brothers Doug Trotter on lead guitar and vocals, Lance Trotter, bass guitar, lead & harmony vocals and Nick Allen on drums.  Doug and Lance have been playing music together since they were kids. Nick was a neighbor and friend to Lance and Doug as kids and little did they know that Nick would become the third and present drummer for their band! Their sound is described as classic and contemporary country music with a kick. Hats Off plays a lot of great venues around the Southern Tier including the Brackney Inn.

Jason Wicks released a great CD that he recorded and produced in Nashville last year called 'Life Of a Cowboy.'  Jason is an accomplished songwriter and a very busy guy playing many popular casino clubs including Tioga Downs and Turning Stone.  Jason has played many shows for the HAWK and has opened for an impressive number of Nashville stars up and down the coast.  With bandmates, John Dugan, Rick Owens, Phil Husted, and Micheal Bell, the Jason Wicks Band will bring a big sound to Magic City Music Hall that includes some instruments you don't always hear in today's country music, including banjo, dobro and steal guitar.  If you love George Strait, you will love this band!

Again, the HAWK listener appreciation show starring: Hats Off and Jason Wicks is Saturday HAWKtober 24th, 8pm at the new Magic City Music Hall in the Northgate Plaza, Upper Front Street in Binghamton.  Lots of FREE parking, drinks at the bar and some great live music for a free night out.  It's the perfect opportunity to check out the premiere music hall in the Southern Tier before Eric Paslay plays Wednesday night HAWKtober 28th at Magic City Music Hall.
