New York Named Best State in the U.S. for Engagement Rings
If you're thinking about getting engaged, New York may be a good place to start looking for a ring. A new study from The Alloy Market ranked all 50 states based on engagement ring searches, jewelry stores, and income. New York came in first place.
New York Takes the Top Spot
New York got a score of 93.6 out of 100. The state had the highest rate of online searches for engagement rings in the country. On average, New Yorkers made about 451,120 engagement ring related searches each month. That works out to about 2,305 searches for every 100,000 people. No other state had a higher search rate.
New York Has Nearly 2,000 Jewelry Stores
New York also gives ring shoppers many places to look in person. The study found 1,947 jewelry stores across the state. That is nearly 10 jewelry stores for every 100,000 New York residents. Shopping for an engagement ring can feel like a big decision. It can help to see rings in person, compare prices, and ask questions before choosing one.
The Study Looked at More Than Searches
The Alloy Market looked at three things for each state: online engagement ring searches, the number of jewelry stores, and income per person. New York’s income per person was listed at $88,847.
Its high number of searches and jewelry stores helped push the state to the top of the list. Massachusetts came in second, followed by Connecticut in third. But when it came to engagement ring interest and local jewelry options, New York was number one.
