Yesterday was National Tortilla Chip Day and I'm so sad that I missed out because it means that instead of using the day as an excuse to stuff my face with the tortillas sitting in my pantry, I had boring chicken and broccoli for dinner.

Had I know that I had a completely legitimate excuse to have junk food for dinner last night, I would have pulled out the tortilla chips and...French onion dip. Yes, French onion dip.

It's no secret to those who know me that I have a bit of a love affair with French onion dip. It tastes amazing not only on chips and with vegetables but also on chicken and even pot roast. While most people reach for salsa or guacamole, or even queso to dip their tortilla chips in, this girl doesn't (okay, I do if they're the only option, but...). I happen to think that French onion dip and tortillas go together like peanut butter and jelly.

The people at Zippia wanted to see which types of dips are most popular in each state, not just for tortilla dipping but as a dip for all chips and much to my French onion dip loving heart’s disappointment, neither New York nor Pennsylvania picked French onion dip as its favorite. Further saddening my heart is the fact that French onion dip was only named by ONE single state as its favorite, so if you’re looking for me, I’m headed to Kentucky.

While the majority of the states picked salsa as their dip of choice, New York and Pennsylvania broke from the popular trend. New York’s favorite dip according to collected data from Google is guacamole and Pennsylvania’s favorite is buffalo chicken dip.

Oooh! What about buffalo chicken dip mixed with a generous dollop of French onion dip? Now we’re talking!
