Another person is heading to state prison following an investigation into a shooting incident outside a Binghamton business.

Prosecutors say 22-year-old Lawrence Martin of Endicott has been sentenced in Broome County court to six years in prison. Martin had pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

According to the Broome County District Attorney's office, Martin illegally possessed a loaded 9-millimeter handgun and intended to use it against someone during a dispute at a barbershop at 225 Robinson Street. The East Side incident happened on January 11, 2021.

Prosecutors say the handgun was discharged by no injuries were reported.

Three other people were charged in connection with the dispute that apparently started inside the business. A person in the area heard a single gunshot followed by several ore shots in rapid succession.

31-year-old Rayshawn Torres of Binghamton previously had pleaded guilty to a weapon possession count for his involvement in the incident.

Two youths were arrested as part of the investigation into the Robinson Street shooting. Their names have not been released. One of them - a 14-year-old Binghamton boy - was charged with attempted murder in connection with the shooting of two people at the Columbus Park basketball courts.

Authorities won't say what has happened with the teenagers who had been charged.
