We are only two weeks away from Christmas and everyone is trying to get into the holiday spirit. We are trying to get the coronavirus pandemic off our minds...at least for a little while.

It's harder this year because so many of the things that are associated with Christmas like the Johnson City holiday parade, Secret Santa office parties, and Ugly Christmas Sweater get-togethers. We may not be able to do those things but there are some things we can do like going to the Broome County Festival of Lights at Otsiningo Park.

Here's another new event that's happening this Saturday, December 12th at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Vestal. It's Drive-Thru Caroling in their parking lot at 499 Plaza Drive. Did you know that Santa likes to sing? He does and he hopes that you'll join him beginning at 6 p.m. on Saturday.

All you need to do is bring your vehicle filled with love and loved ones. Don't forget to bring your mug to enjoy some cocoa while you sing with Santa and his choral friends. I'm going to bring my vuvuzela horn, in case they need me to help them during this time of celebration. Yes, I realize they are desperate if they "need" my help.

Everyone is welcome as Christ the King wants to bring hope, joy, love, and peace this Christmas season. The weather looks great with temperatures around 40. Yes, I realize you'll be in your vehicle but who wants to drive around when it's 10 degrees out.

Go here for more info and I hope to see you there and don't forget to bring your horn or tambourine.
