This Thursday and Friday, November 21 and 22, visitors to the Broome County Festival of Lights at Otisingo Park have the chance to give back while enjoying our community’s festive holiday event.

This Thursday and Friday, organizers are offering a special promotion - a FREE Return Ticket to any visitor who donates a bag of non-perishable food items to CHOW.

CHOW, or the Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse, is dedicated to providing food assistance to families in need during the holiday season. By bringing a bag of non-perishable food items to donate, you’ll not only spread holiday cheer but also make a meaningful impact on local families who are facing food insecurity this holiday season. Donations of food items will be accepted at the gate of the festival, but for those who prefer digital donations, there is also an option available.

If you would like to make a digital donation, visit the CHOW website at broomecouncil.net/Donate/ to make an online contribution in honor of "Team County". Once you receive the confirmation of your online donation, simply show it at the gate to receive your free return ticket to the festival.

Remember, every donation - whether in person or online - makes a difference. Just $1 can provide 5 complete meals for local families in need. So, take this opportunity to join in the spirit of giving and help make the holiday season a little brighter for those in our community who may be struggling.

Sing "The 12 Days of Christmas" Song (Upstate New York Food Edition)

Here is a new twist to that venerable holiday song, "The 12 Days of Christmas". The twelve days here each highlights a different food icon from Upstate New York. Although many of your food favorites made "the song," I do wish it was the 25 days of Christmas instead. Yes, we have that many food legends in our region. So, enjoy the "12 Days of Christmas (Upstate NY Food Edition) and remember, don't just read this post...sing it!
