Dolly Parton Won’t Do Broadway
Dolly Parton's star has been shining in country music since the 1960's, crafting over 3,000 songs, selling an estimated 100 million albums, a successful film career and a truckload of awards to prove it.
The 66 year old music icon reflected on her success recently and was asked about headlining a broadway show. She tells the UK's Daily Express: "I'm always amazed by the people who work on stage, that sing night after night, day after day, week in week out. I don't have that kind of voice, I really don't think my voice would hold up to do a show like that. That's one of the reasons I've never been on Broadway. But I do take care of my voice."
There is no doubt in my mind that Dolly could do whatever she wants but it sounds like she knows the limits when it comes to her health. As one of country music's best selling artists of all time, that is OK with us. We want to enjoy Dolly for a long time to come.
In case you missed her concert in Binghamton a few years back, here's a clip of her stage show, doing what she does best, live from London....
