The caller can be a man or a woman.  They start off by saying they are a government law enforcement official. They provide a fake case identification number and then demand money be place on some kind of gift card.  The caller then directs the victim to travel to where they are going to buy the gift card like Google Pay, ITunes or Apple Gift Cards while staying on the phone with them.  The caller gets the victim to give then the number on the back of the card.

Again, law enforcement will not call and demand any sort of payment or personal information.  Do not give out any personal information on the phone if you don’t know or do business with that person.
