It's a "Concert for the Cause" to help out a family in Oxford. It's happening this Friday and Saturday at the Oxford High School.

David Clark (father who was killed), Lorielei (mother) is undergoing extensive rehabilitation, four children & a teenage family friend were seriously injured. On the night of the accident, David's car was struck by an oncoming vehicle.  Shortly after the accident, David succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

There were 6 passengers in the vehicle. Lorielei (mother), 4 kids (Brianne, Devin, Cody and Audrielle) and a teenage family friend Erin.  Everyone suffered serious injuries and were transported to area hospitals.

All of the children have been released from the hospitals, but are still recovering physically and emotionally. The children have not been able to return home and are living with relatives.

"Concert for the Cause" will have many performers including Hawk Hitmaker Challenge winner and NY State Country Music Hall of Fame Horizon Award recipient , Kaitlyn Jackson. Claus Evans, known for his performances with the Cider Mill Playhouse, TriCities Opera and other community theater performances will also take the stage.

Many others including the Oxford Community Band & the Francis Wilcox Brass Quintet will be there. Friday night the event will begin with a Baked Ziti dinner at 5pm. The entertainment begins at 7pm both nights. All proceeds will be put in a trust fund benefiting the children of the Clark-Dewey family & Emily Renfield.

In addition, businesses & individuals from the community are stepping up to assist with this fundraiser by donating items for a benefit dinner before the show & a raffle. To find out more about this event, contact Gail Murphy at gmurphy1@stny.rr.com.
