Candidates in a couple of close Broome County primary elections now know who won those races.

The Board of Elections Monday morning released the official results from the June 25 primary.

The final tabulation confirmed Paul Battisti defeated Michael Korchak for the Republican nomination for Broome County district attorney by 172 votes. The official vote tally showed Battisti with 4,940 vote and Korchak with 4,768 votes.

Battisti will face Democrat Debra Gelson in the general election on November 5.

The elections board also confirmed that Cheryl Chapman was the victor in a three-way races for the Democratic nomination for mayor of Endicott. She wound up with 26 more votes than Larry Coppola. The final tally showed Chapman with 131 votes and Coppola with 105 votes.

Chapman will face Republican Linda Jackson in the general election.
