The Broome Opioid Awareness Council encourages those with a substance use disorder to practice harm reduction strategies, do not use alone and have a Narcan overdose reversal kit available. Anyone on the site of an overdose should call 911 immediately. The Good Samaritan Law protects all those involved when seeking help regarding a possible overdose.
