The officer was doing a check while on his patrol on Upper Front Street at 4:33 a.m. April 21 and was at one business when he noticed people behind the neighboring Tractor Supply store loading things onto a truck.

The Broome County Sheriff’s office says the Deputy located 36-year-old Patrick McCann and 38-year-old Robert Shearer, both of Johnson City, stealing merchandise stored on pallets outside the building.

The men are charged with petit larceny and were ordered to appear in court at a later date.
