The Broome County Sheriff’s Office has had its hands full once again, making a series of arrests across multiple towns and villages. From drug charges to fraud, larceny to resisting arrest, deputies responded to a range of incidents over the past week.

While this roundup doesn’t cover every detail of law enforcement activity, it offers a look at some of the most notable arrests made between July 15 and July 22, 2025. Here's a breakdown of who was charged, where it happened, and why.

Warrant Leads to Obstruction Charge in Endicott

Things got complicated for 36-year-old Joshua Antalek of Endicott when deputies showed up with a warrant. Instead of cooperating, Antalek found himself charged with Obstruction of Governmental Administration in the 2nd Degree. It happened during a warrant execution in the Village of Endicott.

Two Petit Larceny Arrests in the Town of Union

Theft was the theme in the Town of Union this past week. Both Christopher Berkman, 39, and Kimberly Demkovich, 36, of Endicott were each arrested and charged with Petit Larceny, a Class A misdemeanor. Each arrest came after separate larceny investigations.

Fraud Case in Chenango Leads to Felony Charges

A deeper fraud investigation in the Town of Chenango led to the arrest of 24-year-old Kaila Couture of Vestal. She’s facing some serious accusations: Grand Larceny in the 3rd Degree and Possession of a Forged Instrument in the 2nd Degree. Both are Class D felonies.

Drugs and Intent to Sell in Binghamton

During a traffic stop in the City of Binghamton, deputies arrested 44-year-old Oscar Dwyer of Endicott. He’s now facing two felony charges: Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell in the 3rd Degree, and Criminal Possession of Methamphetamine in the 4th Degree.

Bail Jumping, Resisting Arrest in Binghamton

Malik Oliver, 27, of Binghamton didn’t go quietly. After a warrant execution, he was charged with Bail Jumping in the 3rd Degree, Resisting Arrest, and Obstruction of Governmental Administration in the 2nd Degree, all Class A misdemeanors.

Another Petit Larceny Case in the Town of Union

Caleb Pratt, 28, was also caught up in a larceny case. Like the others, he’s facing a Petit Larceny charge after an investigation in the Town of Union.

Drug Possession Charge Following Traffic Stop

A routine traffic stop in Binghamton turned into a drug arrest for Darrell Tarvin Jr., 51, of Endicott. Deputies say he had a controlled substance and now faces a Class A misdemeanor for Criminal Possession in the 7th Degree.

Menacing Charge After Weapons Complaint

Finally, 24-year-old John Vasquez of Endicott was arrested in the Town of Binghamton after deputies responded to a weapons complaint. He’s now facing a Menacing in the 2nd Degree charge, a Class A misdemeanor.
