From time to time I hear people put down the men and women of law enforcement. I get it, they wrote you a ticket and you are upset. But, if you were breaking the law, you would have gotten that ticket to begin with.

Police officers have very hard job. They risk their lives to protect other people's lives on a daily basis. And for the most part, it's a thankless job. A lot of people that have gotten pulled over by police and think some of them don't have a heart. They do, they are just doing their job.

So to prove they do indeed a heart, I found this story and thought I would share it with you.

According to the Broome County Sheriff's Offices Facebook page, the Broome County Sheriff's Department teamed up with the Port Dickinson Police Department to bring some Halloween candy to a girl who could not go trick or treating on her own.

It turns out that there was an 11-year-old girl who had a broken foot and was on crutches. With all the rain we received last night, I'm sure it was safer for her to just stay home. When the sheriff's department heard of the situation, they decided they would get candy and bring it to her. So that's just what they did.

Five officers showed up at her house with bags of candy and they even signed her cast. Check out the pictures below from their Facebook page.
