After a yearlong pause, people will soon be attending an event at the Broome County Arena in downtown Binghamton.

Manager Chris Marion said preparations are underway for a weekend spa sale at the renamed Visions Federal Credit Union Veterans Memorial Arena. A dance competition is planned for the Forum Theatre on March 27 and 28.

Speaking on WNBF Radio's Binghamton Now program, Marion said things are "starting to get a little bit back to normal."

With Covid-19 restrictions being loosened in New York state, some types of smaller events can be held at the Arena and Forum.

Full-scale concerts and events that would draw large crowds remain on hold. There have been blood drives and training sessions at the Arena in recent months.

Marion indicated some preliminary planning is underway for possible spring graduation ceremonies at the Arena and Forum. He said the ability of holding those events indoors will depend on how health guidelines may be adjusted in the coming months.
