Broome and Tioga Counties Add to Their Pandemic Death Totals
Both Broome and Tioga Counties are reporting another of their residents has died as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Broome’s death toll as of February 11 stands at 294 while Tioga’s toll has risen to 69.
While all the Southern Tier counties reported additional cases, no new deaths were reported in Chenango, Cortland or Delaware counties.
Broome reports 13,134 cases, an addition of 60 from the February 10 report. Chenango County added 10 cases for a total of two-thousand, 266. Cortland County Thursday reported 25 new cases for a total of 3,423. Delaware County had 17 new cases for a total of 1,323 and Tioga County added 11 positive results for the coronavirus for a total of 2,694.
While new cases continue to be identified, counties in the region are showing a reduction in the rate of infection with lowest levels reported since mid to late November.
