I've been a basketball official for nearly 30 years and basketball has become a 12-month-a-year sport. Unified (my personal favorite), AAU, and summer leagues have been keeping me busy since the end of the high school basketball season.

The Gus Macker 3-on-3 basketball tournament is another summer event that's happening in Norwich on July 9th and 10th. The deadline has been extended to Monday, June 27th, if you want to get your team into the tournament to help the Norwich YMCA.

Another summer basketball tournament is The Basketball Tournament (TBT) which includes Syracuse and Boeheim’s Army. TBT is a 64-team, single-elimination tournament for a million dollars.

Boeheim's Army Ready To Defend Its TBT Title

The games will take place from July 29th - August 2nd and air on ESPN. Last summer Boeheim's Army won the tournament for the first time and took home the million-dollar prize.

Much of the credit goes to the players but Adam Weitsman deserves some love for the big V as well. Weitsman, along with Kevin Belbey put the team together for the first time and they look to make it two in a row this summer.

Weitsman and Belbey are back and they have put together another championship-caliber team. The roster has been announced with a few new additions and one big noticeable absence.

2022 Boeheim's Army TBT Roster

DJ Kennedy
DeAndre Kane
Kyle Wiltjer
Dee Bost
Tyler Ennis
Rakeem Christmas
CJ Fair
Andrew White
Marek Dolezaj

The new players to join the team are Rakeem Christmas (best name ever), Mark Dolezaj, and Tyler Ennis. The name that is missing is ...Eric Devendorf. After seven years on the court, one of the all-time leading scorers in TBT history is returning as a member of the coaching staff.

Thanks to Weitsman, Boeheim's Army will be one of the favorites (THE favorite in my opinion) and has a great chance to make it a two-in-a-row TBT championship.

Speaking of Syracuse and titles, let's look back almost 20 years when the CUSE took home another title.
