The Hawk studios are one block away from the famous Lost Dog Cafe in downtown Binghamton.  I love the Lost Dog, have for years and eat there quite a lot.  I knew if I needed to give this a fair Binghamton Restaurant Week review I had to take a good food critic with me.  That I did just that with JennyJo.

Lost Dog Cafe tends to be very popular with students and professionals alike.  People are willing to wait for good food.  They don't take reservations at Lost Dog so if you plan to visit in the key eating times, give yourself some waiting time just in case, especially during Binghamton Restaurant Week.

Lost Dog reminds me of something you would find in New York's East or West village.  The atmosphere is casual and eclectic; the food is full of energy, mostly organic with many gluten free and vegan options.  With just one bite you know everything is prepared fresh, not frozen and presented to impress the eyes and taste buds.

We both arrived very hungry on a Friday afternoon and were looking forward to some good eats.  We already researched the Binghamton Restaurant Week menu on EatBing.com so pretty much knew what we wanted.

My guest ordered the homemade soup, chicken burrito bowl and course three was a creme brulee cheesecake bar.  JennyJo raved over the presentation, texture and flavors.  The combination made the perfect lunch and she said she would definitely be visiting Lost Dog Cafe more in the future.

I enjoyed the homemade veggie soup stuffed with every vegetable you can imagine.  I thought summer was here!  The quinoa burrito bowl was a nice healthy option and with the grilled chicken added, more protein.  I love my ancient grains and my goal is to try to eat more quinoa to replace pasta and rice.  The Oreo stuffed brownie gave me the energy to return to work after a very satisfying lunch.

My thanks to the always delightful Lost Dog Cafe for making us feel so welcome and special.  Lost Dog Cafe is the perfect place to hang with friends and enjoy freshly prepared foods.  If you have dietary restrictions, this is the place to always consider as they have a nice variety of vegan and gluten free choices.

Binghamton Restaurant Week runs through Thursday April 14th.  This year, the Handicapped Children's Association and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Binghamton will be supported by the event.
