Preparations are underway at Binghamton's Recreation Park for an annual tennis event.

The Levene Gouldin and Thompson Tennis Challenger is scheduled to run July 16 through 24 at the park on the city's West Side.

Dozens of workers have been busy installing equipment and preparing the venue for the tournament.

Matches are scheduled to start at 10 a.m. during the first half of the nine-day event. They will begin at 11 a.m. on each of the final four days.

The annual tournament, which has been held in Binghamton since 1994, has attracted players who have become high-profile stars in the world of men's tennis.
