You may have noticed that the skin of the Hawk web site is pink this month.  Since we are teaming up with UHS for Breast Cancer Awareness month, this is good time to salute all the survivors in the Southern Tier and stress the importance of getting regular check ups.

In a few week's a very powerful and inspiring walk will be happening at Binghamton's Recreation Park.  The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk is Saturday October 19th beginning at 10am at the scenic West side park, located on Beethovan Street

The walk unites Southern Tier breast cancer survivors and raises awareness about what we can do to stay well from breast cancer, and raise money to help the American Cancer Society fight the disease with breast cancer research, information and services, and access to mammograms for women who need them.

As of this writing, there are 238 teams signed up with 1,024 participants and over $51,000.00.  Good but there is still more time to raise more awareness of this walk.
