The City of Binghamton is extending the suspension of the parking meter enforcement, the requirement for blue garbage bags and the 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew put in place for the coronavirus pandemic emergency.

Mayor Richard David the measures are extended two weeks through May 15.

David declared a local state of emergency in response to COVID-19 on March 16 and announced a number of public safety policies including requiring residents to stay home at night except in the case of emergencies or travel to and from work or to get groceries or items at a pharmacy.  The curfew had no set expiration date.

City Hall is also still closed and public meetings are closed to physical attendance by the general public.
