This morning, a group of family, friends and strangers gathered to stand in support of Kyle Terry of Owego who spent the last nine months serving our country in East Afghanistan with the United States Air Force.

Kyle was greeted at the Binghamton Airport not only by humans but also by his four-legged friend Junior. Junior is the reason that the Hawk found out today that Kyle was returning home from serving overseas. Kyle's family called the airport to ask if they could bring Junior in to greet Kyle and in turn, the airport let us know about Kyle's arrival. Awesome how that worked out, isn't it?

This tour was Kyle's second and this time last year he missed the holidays with his family, so this homecoming is extra special.

98.1 The Hawk looks forward to welcoming many more of our military heroes home. If you know of a service member coming home and think they’d appreciate a crowd of love, please let us know so that we can spread the word. You can call  607-772-8400 and ask for my extension or fill out the form underneath the pictures below. Advance notice is appreciated, but we understand that it is not always possible.

Special thanks to Jennifer Lasher of the Greater Binghamton Airport and Jackson Lee for these photos of Kyle's homecoming:
