This morning, a group of family, friends and strangers gathered to stand in support of Kyle Terry of Owego who spent the last nine months serving our country in East Afghanistan with the United States Air Force.
Late Thursday night, a group of family, friends and strangers gathered to stand in support of Michael Cacialli of Vestal who spent the last two years serving our country in Japan through the United States Air Force.
We've just received word about a soldier who will be coming home tomorrow (Saturday), October 26th. Unfortunately because of a previously scheduled event, the Hawk staff won't be able to be there ourselves, but we invite you to show up and stand in support.
98.1 The Hawk stands in support of our troops when they return home from serving our country overseas. The men and women who sign up for service do so knowing that they could be sent to war at any time and yet they don't ask for recognition for the risks they take to protect us, but we believe recognition is the least we can offer as a thanks.
Whether a military member has served in a war zone or in a peaceful area overseas, it doesn’t matter to me. I strongly believe that every returning military member to return home should know that they are loved and appreciated.
I can't think of anything else I would have rather done today than what I did and that was to stand in support of two soldiers returning home after serving our country in the Army in Afghanistan for the past year.
