The Greater Binghamton Sports Hall of Fame announces a Hall of Famer as it's 2018 keynote speaker and it's only a week away. Don't miss out on your chance to hear a New York Knick great.

It's the 4th Annual Greater Binghamton Sports Hall of Fame Induction Dinner on Monday, April 23rd at the DoubleTree Binghamton beginning at 6:30pm. They will be doing something new this year, as they will be offering a $1,000 scholarship for the area's top male and female student athlete.

Some of this years inductees are Team USA Olympic Bobsledding team members Randy Will and Chris Coleman, Binghamton Devils Vice President Tom Mitchell along with Dick's Sporting Goods Chairman and CEO Ed Stack.

Other inductees include: Charlie Tarricone, Doreen Denmon, Jason Goldman, Richie Karl, Mark Gumble, George Herrick, Bill Kenville, Frank Little, Frank "Sarge" Sorochinsky, Michael Starke and Tom Yelverton.

The Binghamton Sports Hall of Fame has no permanent home yet but you can see the plaques of previous winners at the Oakdale Mall by the entrance where Macy's used to be.

This year's featured speaker will be NBA Hall of Famer and New York Knick, Earl "The Pearl" Monroe. I'm looking forward to seeing him because I'm a Washington Wizards fan. The Washington Wizards used to be the Washington Bullets that used to be the Baltimore Bullets.

Monroe was drafted by the Baltimore Bullets in the first round in 1967 before he went on to New York Knick greatness. Go here for tickets and more information on this year's Binghamton Sports Hall of Fame Induction Dinner.

See ya next week.
