Weather Man Sam Champion Leaves GMA

One of television's most watched weathermen is leaving ABC after 25 years.  Sam Champion has been a part of the 'Good Morning America' team for the last 16 years and was an important part in overthrowing the 'Today' Show as TV's most watched morning show.

Champion accepted a new gig with The Weather Channel that will begin in early 2014.  In addition to heading the network's new morning show, his duties will also include the title of managing editor.

Sam made the announcement this morning on GMA and his last day is this Wednesday.

But don't worry.  George, Josh, Robin and Laura won't be taking up the slack.  Already a replacement has been named.  Ginger Zee, who you may know from GMA Weekend, will take Sam's place right away.
