2020 has been one of the most difficult years because of COVID-19. The financial stress that this pandemic has created, has hit people in ways that couldn't have been anticipated in 2019. So many are in need and have turned to our local food banks for help. Their need has created another need in our community and that is for volunteers to help distribute the food.

The Foodbank of the Southern Tier and the Conklin Mobile Food Pantry is looking for help in distributing emergency food. It'll be at their Drive-Thru Mobile Food Pantry at the Maine Community Center located at 942 Conklin Road in Conklin.

It's taking place this Monday, October 19th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. It involves physical labor including packing food into bags, carrying food, and lifting boxes. Dress for the weather. wear comfortable clothes, a mask, and put on close-toed shoes.

If you are interested in volunteering, go here to sign up now. Here is a great way to make a difference for others that will also make a difference in your life. It's amazing what happens when you think of others before yourself.

The world wants you to think of you first and you only. That is so backward and if you don't believe me, test it for yourself on Monday.

If you can't make it on Monday morning but want to help the Foodbank of Southern Tier, you can donate online here. It's your opportunity to feed neighbors and feed hope. You'll also find out that you're feeding yourself in ways that you didn't think possible.
