Turkey Is the Most Popular Thanksgiving Food, and 16 Other Stats
Yahoo just released the results of a survey on Thanksgiving food. And it's going to be hard to hear them, then wait a week to gorge. Maybe you should go to town on a Boston Market today for practice? Here are the highlights:
91% of people will serve turkey at Thanksgiving dinner. 33% will have ham, either instead of turkey or in addition to it. And 10% will have some kind of vegetarian option, like tofu.
76% of people will roast their turkey, 12% will try todeep fry it, and 8% will smoke it.
43% of people are most looking forward to eating turkey. Stuffing is second, at 18%. Sweet potato casserole, pie, ham, and mashed potatoes are tied for third, at 7%.
Green bean casserole was fourth, at 4%. Cranberry sauce was fifth, at 3%. And gravy came in last, at 2%.
24% will go to another house for a second dinner on Thanksgiving.
And of the people hosting Thanksgiving dinner, 1% won't do any cooking, they'll just serve store bought food. 82% will cook, 11% will serve a mix of homemade and store bought food and 6% are having a pot luck.
