Another game in a historic rivalry took place on October 4 between the Union-Endicott Tigers and the Vestal Golden Bears at Dick Hoover Stadium in Vestal. The Golden Bears wanted to keep their home field from being the first win of the season for the Tigers.

Dante Burns carried in a three-yard rushing touchdown for Vestal. The kick was good for the extra point, giving the Golden Bears the early 7-0 lead with 2:20 remaining in the first quarter. The Tigers quickly responded with a 24-yard rushing touchdown from Elijah Kendrick. The PAT tied the game at seven apiece with 1:20 to go in the first. Neither team was able to score in the second, so the game would remain tied going into halftime.

Cole Rivell came out of halftime with an 18-yard rush for UE that ended in a score for six. The extra point was converted as the Tigers took the 14-7 lead with  9:16 remaining in the third. Burns on the 15-yard run got another touchdown for the Golden Bears. The PAT was good to once again tie the score at 14 all.

Rivell hauled in a catch for UE in the 4th. After converting the extra point it was 21-14 Tigers. Burns busts through for the TD  for Vestal with one-minute remaining. The two-point attempt was stopped. The onside kick was recovered by Vestal. UE would intercept the ball near the goal line to seal the deal. It was a narrow 21-20 victory for the Tigers as they get their first win of the season.
