With all the craziness and uncertainty that the coronavirus pandemic has brought all of us, it's great when we can get a pleasant distraction. Today is Wednesday and what is there to look forward too? How about celebrating "International Dance Day."

April 29th is the birthday of Jean-Georges Noverre (1727-1810), the creator of modern ballet. The Dance Committee of the International Theatre Institute created "International Dance Day" in 1982 to show the amazing diversity and talent of dancers from all over the world.

So in the words from Josh Turner, "Why Don't We Just Dance." Dance like there are no repercussions...because there's a good chance that you'll get away with it especially this year.

If you are self-quarantined and need to let loose today, then I suggest that you crank up some Billy Idol and do some "dancing with myself." The best part of solo dancing is that you can just freestyle it and you never make the wrong move.

If you are like me, you've been eating more then normal during this difficult time, so you can burn some calories. You'll feel better and you'll have accomplished something today.

You have your excuse to just let loose and let it fly. What song/songs do you like to dance to? My daughter, Tara, and I love to dance to "Cotton Eye Joe" at the Binghamton Devils hockey game and on Friday mornings around 8:05 a.m. Ahh, I miss hockey.
