Thanksgiving is right around the corner. And with this day of thanks, as you know, comes a rush of childhood memories.

I remember family and friends gathering at the house to have turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce from the can and grandma's potato salad. If I got up early enough you could find me watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I loved to see the floats and hot air balloon characters until... That one fateful Thanksgiving. It was the year after I had graduated high school. It was the day, that Barney died.

The wind was horrible and we were all on the edge of our seats as the little Barney helpers tugged and pulled and were drug to and fro by the harness lines. Then it happened. The aftermath of the stab wound was horrific as well as the team of tiny children tasked with keeping Barney friendly and heading in the correct direction began to systematically dismember the mascot. Horrible.
