It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is less than 2 weeks away.  I think it's easy to forget because all I see in the stores is Christmas stuff.  Even before Halloween was done, it was 2 aisles Christmas, 1 aisle Halloween, 2 aisles Christmas.  I even said to my daughter Tara, what about Thanksgiving?  You know the Great Pumpkin (to which she gave me that look), scalped corn (that's what I call it anyway) and NFL football (this year it's the Redskins and Cowboys).

Well Thanksgiving will be here soon and if your the one that is planning a meal, I have a question for you.  Are you spending as much this year as you did last year?  The American Farm Bureau Federation has said that the cost of serving 10 people this year will cost the same as last year, $50 bucks.  I think the number to begin with is low.  If your family doesn't eat seconds and has spamurky instead of turkey, then maybe 50 bucks.  Maybe if the family is 4 parents and 6 kids, it'll be 50 bucks.  My family doesn't gorge themselves(and I'm not saying that just because I want to be invited to Thanksgiving dinner this year), but we do wear the stretchy pants.

The cost of turkeys has gone up because feed and transportation as risen. So people are trying to find ways to save money.  On Tuesday, We'll be taking your calls on ways that you use to save money and cut corners.  I'll give you one hint, don't put the popcorn in the turkey, it doesn't pop by the time the turkey is done (Don't believe me, ask my sister Michelle).  You can also leave your comments here and we'll talk about it tomorrow.  So Merry Christm.....I mean Happy Thanksgiving and we'll talk to you on Tuesday
