Summer is here and does it seem like every week you have two parties, a wedding and a graduation to attend, so how do you balance the never-ending gatherings?

I was talking with a family member on the phone yesterday and he was saying how many parties he has been invited to and how he can’t keep up with all of them.

I have been swamped myself between BBQ’s, Pool parties, Weddings and we had our Family Reunion last month.

Don’t get me wrong these are all fun events and I always have a great time when I attend, but when do you have time to take care of your home, go on vacation, or have your own party?

The best advice I can give anyone is to be up front with the inviters, tell them you have been invited to other parties during that time and you’re really sorry but you can’t commit.

I found that this takes the pressure right off you because you no longer have that looming over your head.

We have at least two parties every summer, one July and another usually around Labor Day.

It’s a lot of work so I understand why people get upset when others don’t show up, but we can’t go to all of the parties.

I hope you have a great summer and get to host and attend a few gatherings, but remember when it comes to invites honesty is the best policy.  Party On!
