Simon Cowell and Girlfriend Welcome Baby Boy

Simon Cowell got a Valentine's Day gift that trumps chocolates and flowers any day. The X Factor judge and his girlfriend Lauren Silverman welcomed a baby boy at 5:45 pm on Friday, Valentine's Day.

Lauren went into labor early Friday and Simon had to jet to the States  from London, but made it in time for the birth. Simon later tweeted the happy news and revealed the baby’s name. "Very happy to say Eric was born at 17.45 pm. Healthy and handsome."  Simon added: "Lauren in great shape. Thanks for all of your kind messages."

The baby was named after Simon's father, Eric Selig Phillip Cowell, who died in 1999. See pictures of Simon's baby boy here.
