Representatives of groups supporting a New York State secession movement are planning a rally in Chenango County and they've decided to invited Governor Andrew Cuomo.

The event is to be held at the General Clinton Park in Bainbridge from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday.

Organizers say a range of secession options are being studied by people concerned about New York State policies.

Aaron Price, a secession advocate from the Broome County town of Windsor, and Stephen Aldstadt, president of the Shooters Committee on Political Education, discussed the upcoming rally on WNBF Radio's Binghamton Now program on August 26.

Price and Aldstadt noted elected officials weren't being invited to the rally. But in response to a question, they decided to invite Governor Cuomo to speak at the event. While they acknowledged he might hear some heckling, they said those in attendance would like to hear what he had to say about their concerns.
