Owego Celebrates Its Recovery and Remembers Tropical Storm Lee

It's hard to believe that it's been 1 year already, that Tropical Storm Lee rocked the Southern Tier.  I have friends that never had water in their basement before, get totally flooded out. Rich Birdsall had his entire house destroyed.  If you were lucky enough not to suffer devastation, then you know someone that was affected.

Owego was one of the hardest hit. Today and tomorrow, they are remembering and celebrating their recovery. They are having a block party beginning tonight at 5 in downtown Owego with merchants, music and fireworks.  The event continues on Saturday from 11-4 at the Countryside Community Center on Sheldon Guile Blvd.  They'll have free BBQ, bounce house , goodies for the kids and more.
